Bhubaneswar, July 28 - Keen to make his protest as loud as possible, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator stood on a chair in the Orissa assembly, only to lose his balance and fall, injuring his shoulder.
Jayanarayan Mishra, a former state minister, was protesting against Deputy Speaker Lal Bihari Himirika for not allowing independent member Pratap Sarangi to complete his speech relating to a bill on the proposed Sri Sri University to be set up.
To make his ire more visible, Mishra came to the well of the house and tried to stand on a chair, shouting slogans all the while. However, he toppled over and fell, injuring his right shoulder. He was taken to hospital.
The proposed Sri Sri University, promoted by spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravishankar, is to come up at Naraj near Cuttack city, some 40 km from here.
