New Delhi, July 24 - A city court Friday granted bail to a former Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) officer accused of disclosing classified information through his book on the working of the external intelligence agency.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja allowed regular bail to Major General (retired) V.K. Singh, a former joint secretary in RAW, on personal and two surety bonds of Rs.100,000 each.
The court allowed the application for Singh's regular bail on the grounds that he had never been arrested by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) during investigation of the case.
Singh and Vivek Garg of Manas Publication were accused of revealing secret information through Singh's book 'India's External Intelligence: Secrets of RAW' in violation of the Official Secrets Act.
