New Delhi, July 24 - Delhi High Court Friday said it might consider appointing a retired Supreme Court judge to supervise the meetings of the Prasar Bharati board, whose CEO and chairman are at loggerheads.
'Time has come when we should pass some order. Some kind of intervention is required. We can't be a silent spectator,' a bench headed by Chief Justice Ajit Prakash Shah said.
The court said it would pass an interim order for the proper functioning of Prasar Bharati after the central government failed to bring about a conciliation between its chairman Arun Bhatnagar and CEO B.S. Lalli.
Responding to a query from the bench, advocate Rajiv Nayar, appearing for Bhatnagar, said the allegations must be investigated by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) as no internal audit has been done in the organisation for the past several years.
