Noida, July 24 - A software engineer was arrested here Friday for snatching a mobile phone two months ago. He was tracked down using the cell phone's special code, police said.

Three motorcycle borne robbers had snatched Vinay Kumar's phone when he was returning to his house in Sector 61 May 28, police said.

'Kumar had lodged a complaint and given us the international mobile equipment identity (IMEI) number of the stolen mobile phone. We put the mobile phone under surveillance and tracked the location in Sector 58,' a police officer said.

'After tracking the location, we arrested the person using the stolen mobile phone. He revealed his identity as Shivam Sharma, a software engineer working with a Delhi based company and a resident of Nehru Nagar in Ghaziabad,' the police officer added.

Superintendent of Police (City) A.K. Tripathi, said: 'Sharma has confessed his crime. We are hunting for his accomplices.'
