New Delhi, July 24 - The Congress Friday supported a Gujarat High Court decision to allow the Supreme Court appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) to question Chief Minister Narendra Modi in Godhra riots case.
'Judicial process must work itself out. It must remember that unprecedented things happened in Gujarat and, therefore, unprecedented steps are required,' Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said.
Singhvi said the whole country is watching the SIT and hoping that it will fulfil its duties.
The high court Friday dismissed a petition seeking a stay on a probe by a Supreme Court-appointed panel against Modi and his cabinet colleagues for their alleged role in the 2002 communal violence in the state.
