Dehradun, Sep 25 - Top seed Poojashree Venkatesha will meet Rushmi Chakravarthi in an all-Indian final at the $10,000 International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament here Saturday.
Poojashree, 19, Friday overcame a late challenge from fourth-seeded Miki Miyamura of Japan 6-1, 7-6(1) while Rushmi was stretched to three sets by another Japanese Moe Kawatoko before winning 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-2.
However, later in the day, Poojashree partnering Israel's Keren Shlomo went down to Miyamura and Kawatoko 1-6, 3-6 in the doubles final.
Poojashree has won two of her three ITF titles this year, the last one at home in Bangalore earlier this month. She was beaten in straight sets last week in the semifinals at New Delhi by 31-year-old Rushmi, who went on to win the title without dropping a set.
The two have met six times and Rushmi leads 5-1 head-to-head.
