New Delhi, Sep 21 - India have been placed among the unseeded eight nations in the Davis Cup World Group in the seedings list announced Monday.
The draw for 2010 World Group will be announced Wednesday in Geneva, Switzerland.
India defeated South Africa 4-1 Sunday in an away play-off tie to progress into the World Group after 11 years.
Spain and the Czech Republic, the two finalists of this year, have been seeded one and two in the ranking.
According to the Davis Cup regulations, the two finalist nations are seeded No. 1 and No. 2 in the World Group for the following year, and will be drawn in opposite halves. Seeds 3-8 are in accordance with the latest ITF Davis Cup Nations Ranking, a statement in the official website of Davis Cup said.
The eight seeded nations will be drawn against the remaining World Group nations: Belgium, Chile, Ecuador, France, India, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland.
