Fateh Jhang (Pakistan), Sep 18 - Seventeen people were killed and 55 others wounded Friday in a head-on collision between two passenger buses in eastern Pakistan, a media report said.
The accident occurred on the Pindi-Kohat road in the Fateh Jhang tehsil of the Punjab province, the Online news agency reported.
The bodies and the injured people were retrieved after cutting parts of the mangled vehicles.
Rescue teams rushed to the site to shift the injured to hospitals. The critically injured were taken to hospitals in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, the report said.
The number of casualties from each of the vehicles was not immediately known.
In another accident, 30 people were killed and 40 others injured Thursday when the passenger bus in which they were travelling veered off the road and fell into a deep ravine in Muzaffarabad in eastern Pakistan.
