New Delhi, Sep 15 - Three of the 34 girl students, who were injured in a stampede in a government school here last week, were convalescing at a hospital and will be discharged soon, an official said Monday.
'Three students are still in the hospital recovering from injuries while five were discharged Monday. The thee will be discharged in 48 hours,' J.P. Kapoor, head of the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital's casualty ward where the students are admitted, told IANS.
Five girl students were killed and at least 34 were injured Thursday morning in a stampede at the Government Senior Secondary School (Classes 6-12) in Khajoori Khas area of northeast Delhi. The victims were mostly from Classes 7-10 and had come to the school in pouring rain for their mid-year examinations.
Although the school was to reopen Tuesday, according to Delhi education department, it remained closed and the exams are likely to be held later.
