Kolkata, Sep 13 - Designer R. Narendra Kumar unveiled a Japanese story as he showcased his collection on the fifth and final day of the Kolkata Fashion Week Sunday.
'It's a Japanese story that we have shown today. The jacket and shirts had lots of frills and it had an oriental feel,' Narendra Kumar told mediapersons after the show.
'There was a certain geometry in the cuts of the women outfits,' he added.
The designer said he made use of light embroidery mixed with modernity.
He used fabric like velvet, linen, wool, cotton, and micro-fibres - for the sheen and shine of the outfit.
For women's garments, the colours started with beige, before moving on to rust and black.
'The idea was that the story continues and flows nicely from the first to the last garment so that 30 garments tell a story,' he said, terming the collection as a 'little more mature line'.
Narendra Kumar will be auditioning college girls for his new Japanese collection called Nari Nari in Mumbai later this month for Westside.
