Lucknow, Sep 13 - A young man killed the former headman of his village in Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun district and fled, but returned the next day and gunned down two members of his family who advised him to surrender, police said Sunday.
The young man was found hiding in the fields outside the village Sunday evening and has been arrested.
Vipin Kumar, son of Munna Singh, the headman of Mirzapura village, was returning to his house along with his father Saturday when he spotted Lalla Singh, a former headman. Before anyone could react, he shot Lalla Singh with the licensed gun of his father, killing him on the spot, Inspector Manish Singh of Madhavgarh police station told IANS.
A police team was deployed in the village to nab him, but Vipin Kumar managed to evade them and reached his house Sunday afternoon.
