London, Sep 11 - Hollywood singer-actress Lindsay Lohan has revealed that she always wanted to live in the spotlight like her idol Britney Spears.
Lohan first saw stardom as a 12-year-old, appearing in Disney movie 'The Parent Trap' before her 2004 film 'Mean Girls' made her a media favourite. She became a regular on the party circuit in Los Angeles, but spiralled out of control just a few years later. She was arrested twice in 2007 on drunken driving charges and has spent time in rehab.
The star now admits she always knew the pitfalls of fame because she watched the 'Toxic' hitmaker's meteoric rise as a youngster, reports Access Hollywood.
'Everyone goes through tough times. I think I've always kind of aspired to be like Britney Spears in the tabloids when I was in middle school.
