Islamabad, Sep 11 - Pakistan has decided to take up the Kashmir and Afghanistan issues during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly session, Online news agency reported.
Pakistan would inform the international community about its reservations on India's intentions to resolve the Kashmir issue as well as on the war against terrorism in Afghanistan.
A decision on this was taken during two meetings held at the Foreign Office, during which Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was briefed about the two issues.
Officers of the intelligence agencies and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) head Lt.Gen. Ahmed Shujja Pasha attended the meetings.
During the meetings, it was decided that Pakistan would ask the UN to ensure the resolution of the lingering Kashmir issue on a priority basis for durable peace in the region.
Pakistan would also take up the Afghanistan issue during the UN session and would inform the world body about problems Islamabad was facing due to the actions of the coalition forces in the neighbouring country.
Issues related to smuggling of weapons and drugs from Afghanistan to Pakistan would also be discussed.
