Chennai, Sep 10 - Indians swept the semi-final spots as Aparjitha Balamurukan, Anaka Alankamony and Anwesha Reddy entered the semi-finals of the WISPA Indian Challenger-1 squash tournament here Thursday along with Surbhi Misra.
In the women's semi-finals Thursday, the experienced Misra faces Aparjitha while Anwesha takes on with Anaka.
Misra defeated compatriot Haritha Om Prakash 11-7, 12-10, 6-11, 12-10 in 33 minutes in the quarterfinal.
Aparjitha got past top seeded Irina Assal of Russia 11-3, 10-12, 11-9, 11-9, while Anaka scored over second seeded Pusha Devi of Malaysia 11-9, 11-6, 14-12, and Answesha eliminated third seeded Carmen Lee of Hong Kong 11-5, 12-14, 11-9, 11-3 in 47 minutes.
Thus, India will have a second winner of a WISPA event after Joshna Chinappa, who has won three titles so far since claiming her maiden title in November 2008.
