Bhopal, Sep 10 - The Madhya Pradesh Police and the army authorities here are locked in a row over the ransacking of a medical college hostel, allegedly by armymen.
Army officers, studying in MHOW, allegedly broke the window panes and ransacked furniture of the hostel of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS), Indore, in retaliation for medicos allegedly attacking two of their colleagues on Monday.
The state police booked around 140-150 armymen for rioting and obstructing government servants. They were also booked for attempting to commit robbery.
Indore's Additional Superintendant of Police Aakash Jindal said an Assistant Sub Inspector had been sent to meet Colonel (Administration) Ravi Dimri with a written request that the army authorities provide them with the duty register, mobile numbers and vehicle numbers of the armymen.
Jindal said: 'However, the Colonel refused to part with the details saying the army authorities were investigating the matter.
