New Delhi, Sep 10 - A victim of the stampede in a Delhi school that left five girl students dead says that errant boys and not rumours led to the mishap Thursday, even as the government dismissed the allegation.
Reshma, a class 8 student of the Government Senior Secondary School (Class 6-12) in Khajoori Khas in northeast Delhi had gone to the school in the morning to give her exams when the tragedy happened.
'We were being told by teachers to move downstairs for exams. When we were moving down, boys started pushing us. Following this we fell on one another. The boys were on the top of us. Teachers rescued us after pushing the boys aside,' Reshma told IANS.
Some of her friends were among the 30 injured.
