Ranchi, Sep 9 - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may bring a privilege motion against Home Minister P. Chidmabaram during the winter session for 'misleading parliament' over holding assembly elections in Jharkhand, party leader Yashwant Sinha said Wednesday.
'BJP may bring privilege motion against central home minister for misleading parliament,' he told reporters.
The privilege motion could be brought in the winter session. 'Chidamabaram had assured parliament to hold assembly elections in Jharkhand after monsoon. Why are elections not taking place in the state?' he said.
'Now elections are the only option in the state as BJP legislators have submitted their resignations,' Sinha said.
All 22 legislators of BJP in Jharkhand Wednesday handed over their resignations to Governor K. Shankarnarayan demanding early elections in the state that has been under president's rule since Jan 19. Sinha was a part of the delegation.
