New Delhi, Sep 7 - People protested and raised slogans against a TV channel Monday when it cancelled auditions for one of its music programmes, police said.
'The channel was conducting auditions at Kamani auditorium here and had made arrangements for around 400 people only. However, nearly 2,000 people gathered at the place following which the channel cancelled the audition,' a police officer said.
'But as organisers decided to cancel the audition, the aspirants, many of whom were from distant places started protesting. They also raised slogans against the channel,' the police officer added.
'The situation was brought under control before things turned serious,' the police officer said.
The police refuted allegations that they resorted to baton charge to disperse the crowd.
