New York, Sep 6 - A slew of Hollywood stars like Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz have accepted comedian Jay Leno's Green Car Challenge, but it is Tom Cruise who is over-excited about taking his green driving skills on late-night television in the US.
'Tom Cruise called and said, 'Can I get in early and practice?' I said, 'No, nobody gets to practice',' said Leno.
The celebrity eco-warriors will race with their contemporaries when Leno launches his Green Car Challenge during the first week of his new US variety show 'The Jay Leno Show', reports Access Hollywood.
The stars are lining up to get behind the wheel of a high-powered electric car. However, Barrymore will be the first one to try out the track on Sep 19.
'The fun thing about it is that there are a lot of people... perhaps athletes and people like this who are not good talkers but would be fun in this sort of environment to see if Shaquille O'Neal is faster than Cameron Diaz,' said Leno.
