Chandigarh, Sep 4 - Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), the main opposition party in Haryana, Friday released the first list of 42 candidates of the party for next month's assembly elections.
The list includes the name of INLD national president and former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala (Uchana Kalan), state INLD president Ashok Arora (Thanesar) and several former ministers and legislators.
The 90-member Haryana assembly goes to polls Oct 13.
The Congress government in the state, led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda, had dissolved the assembly last month, seven months ahead of the end of its term.
The INLD, which had formed an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha elections May this year, is likely to contest the assembly poll alone with the BJP snapping ties with it about 10 days back.
The INLD had led in only seven out of the 90 assembly segments in the May Lok Sabha elections.
The ruling Congress had won nine out of the 10 Lok Sabha seats.
