New Delhi, Sep 3 - The sports ministry Thursday assured the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) that shooters would get all support to prepare for the Commonwealth Games to be held here in October next year.
NRAI secretary-general Baljeet Sethi, after a meeting with sports secretary Sindhushree Khullar, said the ministry has assured that all possible steps would be taken to continue hassle free training of shooters.
'The shooters are now getting required foreign exposure and training. Due to the initiative taken by the ministry, the shooters are being given best possible training in the country. For several years there was shortage of ammunition but with the funds being made available by Sports Authority of India, NRAI is importing ammunition for the coaching camps,' Sethi said in a statement.
Sethi said that Khullar has assured NRAI that a time frame will be fixed to release adequate funds to import ammunition on time.
