Perthshire, Scotland, Aug 30 - Shiv Kapur played his best golf of the year, with no less than 21 birdies and an eagle in four rounds, but at the end of the week, his double bogeys, two of them on the final day, pegged him back to tied sixth at the Johnnie Walker Championships at the Gleneagles Hotel Golf course.

Kapur, who missed more than a few short birdies, including two on the back nine on the final, double bogeyed the par-3 fourth and the par-4 15th and that dampened his great effort of seven birdies. Overall, Kapur shot 21 birdies and an eagle against six bogey, three doubles and one triple bogey.

Kapur shared the sixth place with Gregory Bourdy (70), Jamie Donaldson (70) and Steven O'Hara (70), while one place ahaead of this bunch was Gary Orr, who had 10 birdies and one double bogey in his final round 64.

The 29-year-old Peter Hedblom won his third European Tour title by hanging in there, even as fellow Swede Martin Erlandsson finished second with a stunning 10-under 62 to rocket from two-under after three rounds to set a clubhouse target of 12-under.

Hedblom's last win was at Malaysian Open in 2007 and next year he lost the title in a play-off to Arjun Atwal.

Kapur needing a good finish to come closer to his European Tour card by making a strong move up from his current 127th place, was finishing in the top-10 only for the second time this season.
