New Delhi, Aug 24 - The government will take 'strict action' against those found guilty in Sunday's near-miss incident at the Mumbai airport when two private planes took off almost simultaneously from the same runway, a civil aviation ministry said Monday.
'We are waiting for the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to give its report regarding the incident,' the official, who did not wish to be named, told IANS.
'
'What happened was shocking and dangerous. We are very serious and we will ensure strict action against those at fault. There have been too many such incidents at the Mumbai airpor,' he added.
According to a DGCA official, the incident occurred when the Air Traffic Control gave clearance to the pilots of the two chartered aircraft to take off around the same time.
