New Delhi, Aug 3 - Delhi Police Monday said they have busted a gang of burglars involving tribesmen from Rajasthan after two of them were arrested for breaking into the house of a sessions judge.
Gopal, 25, and Ganpat, 24, from a Rajasthan nomadic tribe were arrested Sunday. Deputy Commissioner of Police (south Delhi) H.G.S. Dhaliwal said the men burgled the Lodhi Colony house of C.K. Chaturvedi last month.
They are accused in many other burglary cases and their arrest has led to uncovering of a gang of thieves from a nomadic community, some members of whom have set up bases in Delhi.
Chaturvedi reported July 2 that the front door lock of his house had been broken and jewellery and his medals were missing.
After a week, V.V. Joshi, a resident of the same locality, also reported burglary of from his home.
Nidhi Gupta of the same locality July 16 reported that the front door of her house had been broken and the house ransacked.
The interrogation of arrested burglars revealed 'a new trend of crime', Dhaliwal said.
