New Delhi, Sep 24 - Indian grappler Ramesh Kumar won bronze in the 74-kg freestyle category of the World Wrestling Championship at Herning in Denmark thus ending a 42-year-old medal wait in the men's section.
According to information received here, the 27-year-old Ramesh lost in the semi-final to Chamsulvarayev of Azerbaijan 0-3 and had to settle for the bronze Wednesday.
Vishambhar Singh was the last Indian male wrestler to win a medal in World Wrestling Championship in 1967.
Earlier, Olympic bronze medallist Sushil Kumar lost in the bronze medal repechage in the 66 kg freestyle category.
