New Delhi, Sep 23 - The Delhi High court Wednesday directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct polygraph tests on the suspects in a child kidnapping case after police failed to collect any evidence against them.
The court passed the order on a petition of the mother of two-and-half-year old Anita who went missing from Sultanpuri in northwest Delhi in September last year.
Delhi Police in their status report to the court said they had conducted a thorough enquiry in the case and interrogated the suspects once again but found no evidence.
Police said the main suspect in the case, Sheela Devi, refused to disclose anything about the missing child and also alleged that the complainant was trying to implicate her falsely.
Meena in her police complaint has alleged that Sheela is involved in a prostitution racket and operates a gang that kidnaps young girls and sells them in Mumbai.
As police have failed to find the child, she has moved a petition in the court demanding polygraph tests on the suspects.
