Dubai, Sep 22 - The preparations for the celebration of United Arab Emirates' 38th national day have started in the country, WAM news agency reported Tuesday.
The programme for the celebration of the 38th anniversary of the UAE federation, which is celebrated Dec 2, would have 61 events, organised by the ministry of culture in conjunction with other state bodies.
The programme was passed during the third meeting of the higher committee for celebration of the country's 38th national day under the chairmanship of Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais, minister of culture, youth and community development.
The events will highlight the history, culture, spirit, and achievements of the UAE federation.
The committee approved the celebrations' emblem which was picked out of five entries shortlisted out of 50 designs submitted by companies and university students.
The website 'nationalday.ae' was selected out of seven competing websites to be the official website of national day celebrations.
