Ghaziabad, Sep 21 - Two people were killed and one was seriously injured on National Highway-24 (NH-24) near Shipra Sun City in Ghaziabad early Monday when a speeding tourist bus hit them, police said.
The three - identified as Janak Sharma, 24, Hari Khatri, 27, and Reshmi Thapa, 23 - were returning home after their night shift at a mall in Indirapuram area around 2.30 a.m. Monday when a speeding bus knocked them down while crossing the highway. The bus sped off after the accident.
A passer-by informed the police, who took all three badly injured men to Fortis Hospital at Noida where Sharma and Khatri were declared dead while Reshmi was admitted for treatment. Her condition is now stable, police added.
'A case of negligent and rash driving has been registered against the unidentified vehicle and investigations are on,' area Circle Officer Rahul Srivastava said.
