Ambala (Haryana), Sep 17 - With oil oozing from the ground of a school complex during the rainy season, authorities in this Haryana city have been ordered the government primary school to vacate the premises.

Nearly 300 students of the government primary school have been affected as the district administration has asked education department officials to shift the school to another campus of a government senior secondary school.

The oil oozes from the school ground as it is located next to huge tanks of public sector oil company Hindustan Petroleum (HP). The oil tanks are located in a congested area of the city with residential and commercial buildings around it.

Ambala Deputy Commissioner Sameer Pal Sarow, who ordered the the primary school to be vacated from its campus, said in case of shortage of space in the senior secondary school, the school should function in two shifts.

The deputy commissioner also held a meeting with senior officers of Hindustan Petroleum to find a permanent solution to the problem of oozing of oil from ground.

The HP oil tanks meet the needs of petrol stations in Punjab and Haryana.
