London, Sep 17 (DPA) Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor will miss Sunday's Premier League game against Manchester United after deciding not to contest a charge of violent conduct.
The Togo international had until 6pm on Wednesday to respond to the charge, which related to his stamp on his former team-mate Robin van Persie in City's 4-2 victory over Arsenal on Saturday, and by failing to do so he has effectively admitted his guilt.
He will almost certainly be given a three-game ban by the FA disciplinary committee when they meet on Thursday.
The charge of improper conduct over the goal celebration that saw him run the length of the pitch to slide on his knees in front of the Arsenal fans will be heard next week.
