New Delhi, Sep 16 - Hockey India (HI) has formed a composite selection committee for men and women, bringing in Olympians Balbir Singh, former India captain B.P.Govinda and goalkeeper Muneer Sait.
The two women in the new committee are internationals, 1982 Asian Games gold medallist Madhu Yadav and former India captain Sita Mehta, nee Gusain.
All the three selectors in the ad hoc committee, Aslam Sher Khan, Ashok Kumar and Dhanraj Pillay, have not found a place in the new panel.
The two government nominees on the committee, former India captains Ajit Pal Singh and Zafar Iqbal will continue as selectors.
HI secretary-general Aslam Khan said the selectors will have one-year tenure.
The new selection committee was necessitated by the dissolution of the ad hoc committee formed in the wake of the supersession of the Indian Hockey federation presided over by K.P.S.Gill last year.
