Kolkata, Sep 15 - The centre will finalise a comprehensive roadmap for Indian corporates by November to adopt the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) set to be operational from 2011, Corporate Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said Tuesday.
'We will finalised the roadmap by November after consulting regulatory bodies like Securities & Exchange Board of India,' Khurshid told media persons on the sidelines of function here.
On the multi-crore accounting fraud in Satyam Computers, he said the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) had stumbled upon enough evidence about the irregularities in the company.
The minister said the government will take steps to strengthen the SFIO to prevent recurrence of such incidents. 'We are contemplating setting up an Equal Opportunity Commission to bring about diversity in workplace and educational institutions,' he said.
